So I'm not on dA that much and I have nothing new to report. So in lieu of that, I will shower you with some of my favorite recent artworks here on deviantART.

This is just a boring journal to let everyone know I'm still alive, if absent quite a bit. A lot of personal things going on that will hopefully settle down a bit in a week or two. Man, I miss my zombie game...

Also, guess what? I was walking in my parents back yard and I didn't have any shoes on, yes Far, no shoes, sorry , and I stepped on a bee. OW! AND, the stinger was stuck so I hobbled over to my mom to have her get it out, which she did. Problem is, apparently I'm starting to have an allergy to them because it has gotten infected, it's swollen, and it itches like having poison ivy; and this is one week after the sting. Thankfully I work for a dermatologist and I went into the office yesterday. He gave me Prednisone, antibiotics, and a topical antibiotic. His words were, "This isn't good..." Yay, just what I need right now. LOL!

So that's my life in a nutshell right now, lol. But I am working on some artwork, albeit slowly, so I will spam your inboxes next month sometime. Far: I have my scanner now so be prepared for some wips that I need help with.

I seriously just had one of the best weekends I have ever had. One of my closest friends, =Chimaera-Stormhawk surprised me, via our mutual friend ~Mira-Jade with a visit this weekend. So along with Mira’s sister, we completely fangirled, and I never get to do that. SQUEE! What did we fangirl? Star Trek, =DarthFar, and Matt Busch ~MATTBUSCH.

The biggest reason for the surprise visit was the Motor City Comicon.

For those who have not heard, made for me so I could transfer it to a tshirt. It's a parody Matt did while creating this: I wore it to the Comicon and yes, Matt Busch loved it. It’s about time that the artists get some attention, no? Here’s a picture of Matt signing the shirt: [IMG][link]

What you can slightly see to the left, viewer’s right, of Matt is ’s booth, where at I made the following purchase:

Also unseen in this picture is when ~Miridiusart had to take a picture of the shirt because Matt didn’t have a camera. What Matt did have, however, was a video camera. Does anyone see where this is going? Has anyone forgotten how much Tory hates having pictures taken of her?

I swear, now that I look back at this, Far’s painting was all a ruse just to get retarded pictures of me. And no, you’re not going to see them.

I also met John Schneider from Dukes of Hazzard and Clark’s dad from Smallville. Now him, I was completely normal in front of. I wanted to talk to him because I have an old record of him doing a cover of Elvis Presley’s It’s Now Or Never which, to this day, is still my favorite version.

I have probably missed reporting on tons of things that happened but I was a little overwhelmed with my mortification that someone my age completely lost faculty of her brain at the Comicon. *sigh* If you want to know what else happened, keep up with this comment thread as everyone else involved will surely report in.

We also spent one whole day painting and drawing, here is what we accomplished:

Does anyone else get tired of the same fanart over and over? That is why I absolutely love =Chimaera-Stormhawk’s gallery. Fanart with her own wicked sense of humor - WIN. While watching Star Trek for the first time this scene came up and she looked over at me and whispered, “Frostbite imminent, go back and get your mittens.” I tell you I laughed so hard I almost had to leave the theatre. My regained composure was followed by, “DRAW THAT!” She also did this in one hour. I get so frustrated with the lack of comments on her work.

I watched ~Mira-Jade do this picture and I can vouch for the fact that, yes, she indeed did have a reference but she did not trace nor did she use a grid. So yes, I am astounded at how much her portraiture has improved in one year. Also, you would not believe all the colors she used on the skin. Seriously. I had no idea it would turn out as nice as it did. I really should stop doubting her, lol.

Mira’s sister did a very cool painting as well but the girl is having major distress over what name she should pick for dA and so, as yet, has not joined. Seriously. So I’ll just have to feature her when she finally gets her butt here. LOL!

Yes, I did finish a picture but since it is a gift for someone - y’all are gonna have to wait until they receive it for me to show it.

I need to go back to work now so I can fly Chim’s butt back up here again cuz WE MISS HER!

As a side note...I made them all try the durian wafers.
